My Sunshine Home

The road in front of the property, looking north, towards Colorado.
The road in front of the property, looking south, towards Taos.

Looking towards the house from west of it, out in the sagebrush.
The house is on 11 acres.

The house as you see it when you enter the driveway.
Corner of front yard with privacy fence...

To the north, Ute Mountain.  I love Ute Mountain!
A few aspen trees in the back yard.
There are numerous little areas of rock work
in the yard, as seen above and below...

Greenhouse and attached workshop or storage building.
Looking inside greenhouse section below.

Huge wood scrap pile out behind the greenhouse building...
Lots of fuel for the wood stove, and for various projects.

A cute little bird house, in front of a russian olive tree.

Fencing, and Sangre de Cristo mountains to the east.
Sweet young evergreen that looks like a little girl dancing...
Great big lilac bush by one corner of house.
East side of house with a couple of aspens and lilac bushes.
One of 4 small decks seen to the left.
House with Ute Mountain in the background.  Also you can see
the shed in the back that might become a chicken coop.
Closer look at front, south side, of house.  There are decks
to the right of each of the two sections that stick out.
Passive solar gain through all those windows.
Back of the house, with an entry mud room sticking out,
and small decks on either side of it.  Except for the mud
room, there is a brand new green metal roof on the house.
The West side of the house...
The solar panels... unknown for certain if they work...
But there is an inverter and 8 storage batteries inside the house.
Continuing on around the house....  The window on the left is in
one of the two bedrooms.  Windows on right are in the livingroom,
which has a wood stove and would be used as my office.
windows on the left look into the living room, middle windows look into kitchen,
and windows on the right look into the room with the saltillo tile floor...
I will make the steps going up to that deck look nicer.

The living room windows, with well house in the foreground and
the solar panels to the left.
The room with the saltillo tile floors.  It would be for cat boarding.
Small decks on either side.  Outside of that room there are
tulips, lavender, and the delicious herb lovage planted.
Entrance into saltillo tile floor room.   Good for cat boarding, as clients
could enter it without going through the rest of the house.   Not sure
if many people would drive out this far to board their cats, but some
people would, and my cats can enjoy the room when boarders are
not using it.  This deck, like the others, is aging, but that is a repair
I can easily do myself as time and money allow.

This was taken looking into that room through one of the windows.
Also taken peeking in through a window, this is the unfinished bedroom.
I'm fine with that, as I can choose the paint color myself.   This is the room
I'd sleep in, as the nicer bathroom is right off of it.  I'd have a view of
Ute Mountain from bed, out through the sliding glass doors in this room...
The unfinished bedroom again, looking into the bathroom on the right.
The door to the left takes you to the cat room if you turn right again,
or out to the kitchen and dining area if you go straight.  Below is
a close up of the cool hardware on the bathroom cabinet...

Looking in through window above the kitchen sink.  To the left is the dining area,
and you can also see down into the living room.  The kitchen, dining area
and the living room all have wood floors.
Again taken looking through window above kitchen sink.
Looking towards the kitchen sink, taken through the glass door. That door
to the left of the stove goes into the mud room. I'd put a kitty door in that
door and a second one in the mud room's exterior door.
Photo below is looking out into the mud room...

Looking towards the kitchen from the second bedroom.

Looking down into the living room (my office)

The wood stove in the living room...
Looking from living room up into kitchen area.

This is taken down in the living room, looking up into the dining area.  That window
straight ahead, which was closed off when the mud room was added on,
I would make into shelving or another kitchen cabinet.

And last, but certainly not least,
sunset over San Antonio Mountain.

Ahhhhhhhhhh...
